Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026 · Governed by English law

1. The service

VP Audit (“the Service”) is a free network-security assessment tool operated by VantagePoint Networks (“we”, “us”), a business based in London, England. The Service presents a structured questionnaire and computes a security score and findings entirely in your browser. No account is required.

2. Not professional security advice

The Service does not constitute professional security advice or an audit certification. Scores are produced by an automated tool based on self-reported answers. They do not replace a manual penetration test, formal audit, or accredited Cyber Essentials assessment.

For accredited certification or formal audit, engage a qualified provider. We can recommend one — see our services.

3. Free to use

The assessment, scoring, and PDF export are free to use without limitation. We may adjust the question set, scoring algorithm, or report format at any time without notice. We reserve the right to block abusive traffic.

4. Privacy

Your assessment answers never leave your browser. The PDF is generated client-side. The only data we receive is what you voluntarily submit via the contact or enquiry forms — see our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:
  • scrape or reverse-engineer the assessment logic;
  • attempt to bypass rate limits on the contact and enquiry endpoints;
  • submit false or harmful content via the contact forms;
  • use the Service to generate compliance certifications you are not entitled to;
  • resell the assessment as your own without a written agreement.

6. Intellectual property

The question set, scoring algorithm, report templates, branding, and code are the intellectual property of VantagePoint Networks. You may use generated reports for your own internal purposes including sharing with colleagues, advisors, or auditors. You retain ownership of any text or details you input.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law (including death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is hosted on Vercel; outages affecting Vercel will affect availability. Maintenance windows are unannounced and rare.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
